Workouts for Fall Leggings

by Jenni in

Isn't it funny that the time of year when we start to bundle up is also the time of year the we show our legs [sometimes] the most? Fall is here and so are those leggings. Leather, jean, ultra skinny, you name and they have it! These two Blogilates are here just in time to get our legs ready for fall's super skinny, ultimate wardrobe necessity.

This skinny leg workout is all about working those legs for massive results in very little time. There are very few exercises in this workout, but all of the will give those gams a run for their money. It will also work the outer bum and really engage those thigh muscles. I would recommend completing this workout before the bum workout or after your usual cardio session. It is 15-minutes, total, so this will add a bit of time if done along with your usual, but it will be worth it!

Next up is all about the bum with the aid of a handy little piece of equipment called the power ring. The power ring is a great way to work hard to get to muscles and will use resistance to tone those glutes. If you do not have a power ring, do not fret. This workout can be done with an exercise ball for similar results.

This is a great workout to complete after the Skinny Legs Workout, or before some yoga. This workout will help get your blood flower and muscles loosening before your yoga flow, and a nice stretching flow after this will be like gold for your bum!

YouTube Ab Workout

by Jenni in

As you may know, I have decided to do a complete ab overhaul in the next few months. This means that I will be working my abs into washboard shape every workout day of the week. The first day it was the Intense Ab Workout that I completely recommend everyone doing. It is intense and 100% worth it... Plus, that three workout cocktail will also tone your upper legs, inner thighs, and bum. Dreamy.

The next day I decided to forgo the usual yoga flow and go with some good ole' Pilates instead. Pilates, in general, is a major ab workout, so trading one for the other just made sense. For this Pilates class, I went with Cassey Ho's Abs on Fire workout. This is an intense 15-minute ab workout that is meant to kill us. Yea, my abs are feeling it.

The Abs on Fire workout does some really fun exercises that I have never seen before. This was great since the same old workout gets boring and does not work your muscles quite as much as it did the first time around.

If you really want to intensify your workout, double up with the Legs on Fire after the abs. This is another intense Cassey Ho workout. The workout is great and torches fat everywhere from the lower calf to the bum. Like the Abs on Fire, this workout has some newer exercises mixed in with the more known ones. Both of these workouts combined took me about 30-minutes and left me in a puddle of sweat on the floor.

To cap it all off, I did the Cassey Ho Corset Workout before bed that night. I know, it was an intense, Cassey Ho kinda day. The Corset Workout is about 8-minutes long and will target all the muscles around your waistline. I loved this workout. It is not quite as intense as the other two, so perfect as a before-bed routine, or added on to your usual daily workout. If you are really feeling insane, try doing all three as your day's workout. Those muscles will not know what hit them!

Internet Workout Round-Up

by Jenni in

There have been some fantastic internet workouts posted over the past few weeks. Some of these workouts have become part of my weekly routine, while others are super new to me, and super fun. Can you guess which I have become addicted to? Hint, I have been ridiculously addicted to bum and abs workouts of late.

Extra TV Fitness Challenge

Cassey over at Blogilates is a genius. This easy to complete fitness challenge is super fun and gives you they chance to be a star on Extra. Blogilates and Extra have teamed up for a sit-up challenge. See if you can complete more sit-ups than Mario Lopez or Maria Menounos while being distracted. Record your distracted 30 second sit-up challenge and send it in for a chance to win a spot on Extra!

8 Minute Abs 2.0

{via}

Do not let the title fool you, this ab workout is short, but boy is it intense. Nicole, from Pumpsandiron.com is great at making yummy foods and fantastic ways for us to burn it off. This workout is not exception. The entire thing takes (you guessed it) eight minutes and works the core, oblique, and lower abs. It also gives some extra toning to the bum and thighs. Yes please!

This workout is great, but what really caught my eye were her fantastic Nike leggings. They are gorgeous!

Yoga for Knees

It has been a while since we talked about yoga videos available online. Honestly, my new running schedule has taken the drivers seat and reduced the amount of yoga I have been doing each week. Mistake. If you are doing the 10K training along with me, I would totally recommend doing this flow after your run. This flow totally reminded why we need yoga, especially when we are doing abnormal, rigorous activities.

You may have guessed it, but strong knees are a bit important for running. This flow works the knee muscles and increases flexibility, making your legs more sturdy and increasing range of motion!

Workouts for the Bum

by Jenni in

The bum is one of the hardest areas for me to work. For this reason, I have been a little more focused on working it our over the past few weeks. There are plenty of online workouts and video workouts that are geared solely towards our hind regions, we have even talked about a few of them before. Thank goodness, there is enough new material coming out that a girl never needs to worry about getting bored of working her derriere! These are some of the workouts I have been using recently to work my hind.

Brazilian Butt Workout

I found out about this workout about a week ago. It seemed interesting and came highly recommended by the blogger reviewing it. This girl is pretty fit, so I figured it would not hurt to give it ago. The workout is filled with squats, plie squats, kicks, circles, jumps, lifts, and about four different kinds of lunges. Yes, it is a leg and bum workout!

Prepare to be here for the long haul when you are doing this workout. Each set took me between 15 and 18 minutes. By the third exercise I was dripping with sweat, it is an intense workouts, but worth it. The entire workout burned about 350 calories. Pretty spiffy!

Blogilates What Makes You Bootyful Butt Challenge

We have brought up Blogilates before. Although I do more yoga than Pilates, no one in their right mind would say Pilates does not work your core and everywhere else, or that Cassey Ho is not one of the best instructors ever. For that reason, I wanted to add the Blogilates Butt Challenge to this bum workout. It is a great five minute challenge that will get your upper thighs and bum burning in no time. The workout is super simple and would be great to do after any other workout for a massive booty boot camp. I am pretty sure I died during this three-minute butt lift sequence.

30 Day Butt Lift Workouts

Ok, I am doing this. BeFit has created an intense and awesome 30-day workout routine specifically created for our bums. The fitness regimen comes with a calendar and daily workout videos. These workouts are intense, but short enough that it can be done in addition to your usual workout. I will be starting this workout on Monday, just in case you would like to do it along with me. Once the month has passed and the workout is complete, I will give a second review. There may or may not be before and afters... I am still deciding.
