P90X is one of my favorite (non-yoga) home based workouts. It really is a great workout that takes minimal equipment but gives a maximum burn. I have recently been jumping back into the P90X routine with one of the shorter workouts and my second favorite; the Cardio X workout. Cardio X combines yoga (and lots of it) with kenpo, boxing, and plyometrics. Do this and your legs, arms, and even your back will be feeling it the next day.
Since starting up with this P90X goodness again, I have been monitoring calories burned during a cardio workout and overall results. The Cardio X workout is almost 43-minutes exactly. In that time I average 383 calories burned. Sure, this is a fair amount, but it is honestly less than I thought it would be. In 43-minutes on the treadmill I will usually run 4.5-miles and burn upwards of 4500-500 calories. Fortunately though, Cardio X goes by way faster and tones more than running ever does.
What makes me even more happy about Cardio X is that it is now available on YouTube for free. We paid way more than I care to admit for our standard definition P90X workout series on DVD. Now, it is available to everyone in a super easy, non-DVD version for free. Yes. Please.
