Great Holiday Cards from Etsy

Last year the hubs and I hired a photographer and took plenty of holiday pictures to last the whole year long. Even though we are young(ish) and child free, we thought it was a great thing to do since we had never sent out pictures of our home, had a new home party, and we had gotten two new cats that many people had not yet seen. So, we sent out the cutest holiday card ever made in the history of existence. Two words, kitten tie. Boom.

Since there is no topping last year's epic cuteness of a card, we decided to go the more traditional and less expensive route of finding adorable semi pre made holiday cards. Enter Etsy. This may sound odd, but the hubs is the one who got me started on Etsy for cards. Every card he gets for me is unique, adorable, and perfectly fitted for me... All of them are from Etsy.

Here are the ten cutest holiday cards that I have yet found on Etsy, all for $2.50 or less each! Hehehe, there is also one that I could never send out but is, hands down, my favorite... Can you guess it?

Happy 3 Year Anniversary!

Today the hubs and I celebrate three years of marriage, and in 2014, we will be celebrating ten years together! It has been quite a long time since we first met, but boy am I happy that we did! Sure, ups and downs are par for the course, but I could not be happier than I am around him.

It is pretty incredible that we have been together for almost ten years now, and even more incredible is that fact that we are still able to surprise each other. I am not saying that our life is filled with daisies and unicorns. Honestly, there are some times when things are not so easy... But, that's what any realtionship is and I am just so, super happy that I get to have the relationship I do with him.

You may not know this, but he is the reason this little P+K exists. Yep, the hubs is the one who encouraged me to workout first, then encouraged me to follow my love of writting, then crated the blog and continues to take all the self done pictures. Yea, he is pretty incredible.

Sorry for the not-so-normal post. But I thought it was needed. Tomorow we will be back to usual health and fitness fun, but today, we celebrate three years of a pretty great marriage!

My Office, Before and After

About a week ago I talked about some pretty exciting things coming up for us. One of those was that my office was [finally] getting it's flooring installed. I love this wood. We bought it at a steel and were able to get enough for both offices and both bedrooms on our two-office budget. Scoresees! First, we did the hub's office since his was smaller and needed to be done sooner. His office was completed back in April (April!?) and the rest of our gorgeous wood flooring has been sitting in the garage ever since.  

Yes, I watch my fair share of DIY and home renovation shows, so you think I would understand that any type of a renovation comes with a bit of a mess. Apparently not. I was completely unprepared for the amount of dust emanating from office one, that it took me over six months to have any wish of completing office two.

But, we did it, and the second time around was a lot better. My office was waaay less dusty and we hired my Dad to do the actual flooring. I still moved all the furniture out, tore up the carpet, and re-painted the baseboards, but the hard stuff was completed by Dad. Genius.

The office is nowhere near done, I still need a few design pieces, a new area rug with a patter and more color, wall art, a chandelier that has still to be chosen, and some super cute navy drapes that will be coming soon! But,  I just could not wait to show you the semi-finale! So, so happy with the outcome. You cannot really see it in the pictures, but the walls are Sherwin William's Gray Owl. Absolutely love that color to bits.

I decided to do almost all cool tones in the office to make it calm and inviting. The pops of color come in the pinks seen throughout with accessories and with the dark grays. Warmth is brought in with the wood flooring, which makes it feel a bit less cold and a bit more inviting! There is also boat loads of hidden storage throughout so the main pieces can be open and airy.

Almost everything from the shelves, white cabinet you can barely see in the back corner, settee, storage boxes, and a lamp are all from Ikea. When it comes to offices, Ikea is my go-to. They have incredible storage devices and the office furniture is just as good as most mid-range office retailers. The Desk is World Market and can be found here. Iron and wood table was on One Kings Lane during a flash sale. Large woven wall art is from West Elm. Most everything else is Etsy, picked up while traveling, or vintage.

If you have read more than five posts on this little blog, you know that I am slightly addicted to YouTube workouts. What you may not know is that my YouTube addiction does not stop there. YouTube has some seriously good entertainment with respectable writing, and production. A new one that just started this week is Side Effects. It is a ridiculously good drama/comedy about a family that uses popular music through out. So good.

... And let's end this at three before I feel like a super vain, crazy person. New articles are posted daily for all writers on AWS and, pretty much, weekly for me.
