Workout Pants to Love

by Jenni in

Looking sweaty at the gym is part of the game for looking good otherwise. As much as I know this is true, nothing gets me to the gym quicker than new workout attire. I have recently gotten the Saucony Kinvara 3 running shoes and counted the days until they would be delivered and ready to try. This same excitement goes for any other workout paraphernalia- shirts, pants, sports bras, even workout socks can be an exciting thing to try out, and a great way to re-inspire a dry workout routine. These workout pants are a few that I have either purchased and l-o-v-e, or something that I am dying to buy!

VS Cropped Leggings

I am super in love with these cropped leggings that come in a ton of different colors and patterns. You may have seen their full-legged big brother in a few of my workout how-to's; these look just as awesome but with about 10 more colors to choose from! Yea, they are on the must-buy list!

Gap Terry Crop Pants

These pants look like the type I could live in. Terry cloth is one of the best things ever created and the crop plus drawstring make them a must! These are also great if you are not into spandex quite as much as Apolo Ono or Superman. My only concern with purchasing this wonderful pant is that I will not take them of. But really, is that so bad?

Athleta Home Run Short

It is still summer here in Florida and shorts weather will not be gone until January-ish. So, these shorts from Athleta make perfect sense to buy. Oh how I do love these. They are the right length, being long without too long and short without being too short. These types of shorts also look good on almost any body type and the color options are great for almost any skin tone- including those out there with legs as reflective white as mine! The Home Run Shorts are on sale right now as well. This just might be the time to get a pair in each color ;)

Three Favorite YouTube Workouts

by Jenni in

Oh how I love my YouTube workouts! YouTube is a great place for adorable kittens, funny internet shows, and (who knew?) great workouts! Every week I scour YouTube for new workout videos to try, and, if they are good, share with you. Many workout how-to's do not even make the cut, but out of those that do, even fewer become my favorite workouts. Out of all the workouts that we have done together via YouTube, only a handful make the cut to be my favorites. Here are three of those!

Tracey Anderson for Gwyneth Paltrow

Ok, this quick workout was my introduction to YouTube workouts and my first real workout love. Tracey Anderson says she made this workout for Gwyneth Paltrow, but I am pretty sure she really made it for me. It is the best workout I have ever done for my bum. Ever! The entire bum workout takes about 20-minutes and only uses a chair. You can do this along-side some cardio for the day, or use this as an exercise for a busy day. Either way, it is an incredible workout that your legs and bum will thank you for... After they are done crying in pain.

Jillian Michaels Yoga Meltdown

If you, or someone you know does not enjoy yoga, have them do this. Jillian Micahels' form of power yoga is, really, nothing like yoga, but will give some of the benefits yoga has to offer. Yoga Meltdown will help burn fat and increase muscle flexibility.

It is one of the longest YouTube workouts I have ever done, but it is totally worth the 35-minute investment. Yoga Meltdown will work almost every muscle in your body- especially the arms and torso!

Cassey Ho What Makes You Bootyful Workout

A list of YouTube workouts is not complete without YouTube's workout darling, Cassey Ho. Cassey Ho has been doing Blogilates workouts for as far back as I can remember. This workout is ridiculously quick and super effective. It is comprised of bridge poses that will work your bum like madness! Enjoy this quick little workout and the massive results it will bring after five intense minutes of bridge pose obsession.

Top Three Magazine Workouts of 2013

by Jenni in

2013 has had some pretty great magazine workouts. Some of my favorites from this year so far are those that 1) do not need massive equipment 2) do not take more than 30 minutes, and 3) are super effective. These workouts have completely surprised me and are the ones that I still do almost a year later.

June 2012 Jump Rope Workout

This workout is over a year old, but that does not mean it has worn out it's use. the entire workout lasts about 30-minutes and will burn upwards of 250 calories! The best part is it will work your whole body and keeps things entertaining at the same time. Funny how jump rope routines are gaining in popularity right now... Seems this workout was a year ahead of it's time :)

Jennifer Love Hewitt's Workout

March 2013 had a silent killer in my review. This Jennifer Love Hewitt workout completely took me by surprise. It is simple, fun, and did some major damage to the fats around my thighs. Although I loved the workout while completing it, I did not realize how effective it was until the next day. This workout will definitely sneak-up on you in the muscle soreness category. I would recommend this for anyone who wants a great leg workout, wants a simple and low impact exercise routine, or just wants to mix things up. Jennifer Love Hewitt's workout seems to do all three!

Beach Body Part I

Out of all the Jillian Michaels workouts that I have done, this one is still at the top of my list. Sure, Yoga Meltdown, Six Pack in Six Weeks, and Beach Body Part II and III are incredible, but this one takes the cake. The calorie burn for this workout is not too high, but the muscle strengthening is incredible. This workout will give your arms, legs, bum, and abs a full, sleep the pain away, workout! Enjoy the post-workout pride that goes along with completing this insane Jillian Michaels sweat session!

Yoga for Beginners

by Jenni in

I will not lie, this summer yoga has gone on the back burner and my body has been in serious need of a refresher course. Sure, I had done the Jillian Michaels Yoga Mealtdown or quick flow, but power yoga or a few poses is not the same as a good ole' fashioned yoga flow. If you are in need of some nice, beginner yoga, this fifteen minute flow is for you. It is a slower flow that focuses on balance and beginner poses that will break that yoga ice without breaking any pride. Most of the poses use balance and help increase flexibility, although some will also help with strength- especially in the back!

I did this flow in the morning before one of our longer road trip days. It was perfect! This Slow Flow comes highly recommended for those with stiff joints or swollen limbs... It will also help increase flexibility and stamina to withstand whatever the day may bring!
