What I Missed While in Greece

by Jenni in

Now, I am looking at all the articles, pop culture, and news I have missed over the past week and thinking that it simply must be shared. Because, there is the off chance that you also missed all these goodies and that is simply not acceptable. Happy Tuesday and here's to vacations, the internet, cat babies (who are sitting on your lap right now purring, pawing at your face, and thanking you for the tuna you gave them because you completely forgot they were out of wet food. It happens, don't judge), and coming home!

Oh, and you may see a supreme lack of pictures from Greece on this post. Do not fret, there will be PLENTY in the following week.

Another 20-Minute Kettlebell Workout

Because all the 20-minute kettlebell workouts in the world do not satiate my kettlebell workout desire. I looked at this with longing while kettlebell free in Athens.

These Cookies

They are made with coconut oi and oatmeal. Oh, and chocolate, bananas, and magic.

This Tracey Anderson Workout

I have been eating like a true Grecian and apparently, do not have their god-like metabolism to back it up. This flat stomach workout via flat stomach goddess just might be my ticket to normal-size town! Whoowhoo.

This Outfit

Because it's fall and I love it. I mean really, look at it. Do we need a better reason?!

Sopapillas

Full disclosure, I am not sure what is in them or how they are made because I have not clicked on the link. They just look soo good that all I can do is stare, and maybe drool a little.

This Week in Workouts: Being Back

by Jenni in

First off, I found this video earlier today and absolutely loved it. It is a big advertisement for proper skincare, but more-so, it is just plain pretty! The music in it just might be one of my favorite parts. Another favorite was that some people seem to look prettier with the UV light and freckles showing. As a girl with freckles, I simply love seeing people who look dazzling with them!

Being back home after a long trip is one of the best feelings ever. An equally good feeling is being back in your usual hot yoga class after a long time away. I was totally able to accomplish my goal this week of taking two hot yoga classes and feel all the better for it! This week has also been a time for me to get lots and lots of work done on all fronts... Which is pretty great considering that I am taking two days off next week to have all wisdom teeth removed. Yikes!

I would tell you more about the tooth removal situation, but when the doctor started telling me, I kindly asked him to stop talking. This will be my first ever surgery and I am already nervous enough, let alone finding out what will be taken out of my mouth. A serious no thanks there!

Annnyyywayy, off that tangent and back to the workouts... This week was pretty good on the workout front and I was able to get in to Fit2Run for a run analysis. Turns out that I roll my feet in after landing. The best shoe we found for this was the Nike Lunarglides- the shoes I almost bought two weeks ago and wore religiously during college. The Lunarglides reeaalllyyy hurt to run in at first, but I think that was because of some foot injuries that they brought up; my third run this week felt fine and I am happy to see how they work for my run today.

Sunday: 1-mile run

Monday: My first Hot Power Yoga flow with my favorite instructor in 2-months!!

Tuesday: 1-mile run in my new shoes!

Wednesday: Rest day

Thursday: 2-mile run followed by this kettlebell workout. My bum is still sore from those few minutes with the kettlebell.

Friday: Rest day- I had an Orange Theory class scheduled but had to cancel due to the immense soreness my legs and bum were feeling from the kettlebell workout. Seriously, I walked like a zombie for two days.

Saturday: 90-minute Hot power Yoga flow!!

Weekly Workout Goal

I just found out that my Orange Theory membership has kicked back up and I now have two weeks to use four classes. For that reason, this week and next week's workout goals are to use all the classes. My hope is to complete two classes per week, all with my favorite trainer!

Intense Indoor Cardio Workouts

by Jenni in

More than half the US is currently stuck indoors which makes getting a good cardio workout a little more difficult. Yesterday, our aunt sent us a picture of their horse barely able to peek her head over a snow bank. Florida is definitely not that snowy right now, but boy is it cold compared to our usual mid-February temperatures.

If you are one of those unable to go outside or get to your gym, there are some great indoor cardio workouts that will help burn some calories without braving that winter wonderland. One of these has a bit of a soft spot for me as well since it was the first ever workout showcased on P+K. Can you guess which?

15-Minute Kettlebell AMRAP Workout By Pumps and Iron

{via}

This workout was featured on the blog a few weeks ago in a "This Week in Workouts" and I have been dying to do it ever since. The entire workout takes 15-minutes with no breaks between exercises or sets. You will be sweating by the end. Add this workout after and your bum will be on it's way to defying gravity... And you will be a bit sore.

Burn 300 Calories in 30-Minutes by Pen and Keyboard

This is [still] one of my favorite workouts to complete. At the end of the first set you are glistening. By the second set, you are dripping sweat; and the third set leaves you as a pile of goop on the floor. Best of all, it takes no equipment and hardly any space. Do this and you are sure to burn 300+ calories in 30-minutes, or waay more!

Jillian Michaels' Yoga Melt Down

Ok, this workout has been featured on P+K before and even though I am not a fan of double featuring a workout, this is good enough to make an exception. Yes, it's yoga, and yes, you will finish this 35-minute workout breathless. If you are wanting to get a great arm and core workout, do this. The entire workout is great on it's own, or done before a more relaxed yoga flow for a super intense warm up.

Bikini Workout

It may be snowing outside, but we can get a head start on that beach-wear anyway! This workout is intense, and it mixes things up, and it will stretch your muscles while toning them. Like most of the workouts on the list, this one also takes no equipment to complete and requires very little room. It also has surprisingly few cardio exercises considering how hard your heart will be working.
